We’re Finchley Aerials. We’ve spent 25 years working on television reception and installations across North London. We know the chimney stacks on Victorian terraces, the shared feeds in mansion blocks and the cable joints that let water in. When your picture breaks up, we put a meter on the system before recommending equipment.
We repair aerials, install satellite dishes, fit CCTV, mount televisions and install Starlink equipment. Call us free on 0800 206 2385, Mon–Sat 8am–7pm. Tell us your postcode and what you need. We offer same-day service where possible and give you a clear price before work starts.
Keep the aerial if the aerial still works
A broken picture does not automatically mean a new aerial. We check flyleads, wall plates, cable joints and amplifier power supplies. Then we measure the feed at the relevant points. If a connector is corroded, we show you. If the aerial is sound, we keep it.
Here’s a typical repair we look for on a Finchley terrace: rain enters an exposed connection, travels down the coax and leaves the downstairs picture breaking up. Replacing the aerial head leaves that wet cable in place. We trace the fault, replace the damaged run and test the outlet again. That is why diagnosis comes first.
Crystal Palace reception, checked at your roof
Crystal Palace supplies much of our patch. Around Muswell Hill and Highgate, hills and surrounding buildings change the signal reaching each roof. We check the Alexandra Palace relay where relevant, including which channels it carries. An aerial pointing the same way as next door tells us very little on its own.
We take MER/BER meter readings to check signal quality and errors, alongside signal strength. We check the effect of splitters and amplifiers too. More gain can overload a system. When 4G/5G interference from mobile masts is the cause, we select suitable filtering and check the result at your television.
For a new installation, we agree the cable route and mounting position first. We use WF100 cable where appropriate and check chimney lashings, brackets and the condition of the stack. A secure fixing and a properly sealed cable entry matter long after the ladder comes down.

CCTV planned around what you need to see
We give CCTV the time it needs. Book a free CCTV site survey and walk us round the property. Show us the side gate, the parked car, the entrance residents use and the doorway where deliveries disappear. We plan camera positions around those views, then give you a fixed written quote.
A wide picture of the whole drive is useful for watching movement. Identifying someone at the gate needs the right angle, distance and lighting. We discuss those jobs separately. We check backlighting, night-time illumination and places where a porch, hedge or open door would block the view.
Take a typical side-return survey on a Victorian terrace in N2. A camera high on the rear wall sees plenty of paving, while faces disappear beneath it. We work through a lower viewing angle and a separate entrance view. Those are the details we settle during the survey, before holes are drilled.
We agree recording storage, cable routes and who needs access to footage. We set up phone viewing, secure the accounts and show you how to find and export a recording. We also discuss privacy masking and recording beyond your boundary. You should leave the handover able to use the system yourself.

Satellite, Freeview and shared systems
For Sky or Freesat, we check dish alignment, the LNB and the cable feeding your receiver. Tell us the receiver model before buying replacement parts. Sky Q and different Freesat receivers have specific feed requirements. We match the equipment and test reception at the box.
For Freeview, we check the broadcast signal before tuning the set. We can add television points and set up compatible Freeview Play equipment. In mansion blocks, we work with the managing agent on communal aerials and satellite distribution. Reports from several flats help us trace a shared fault without disrupting working feeds.

A properly mounted TV. A clear sky for Starlink.
We check the wall construction, screen weight and bracket before mounting your television. Victorian plaster can hide very different surfaces underneath. We agree viewing height, cable concealment and access to sockets before fixing anything. Tell us about the soundbar, games console and other boxes you want connected.
For Starlink, we assess the sky view and obstructions from trees, neighbouring roofs and chimney stacks. We plan a secure mount and a tidy route for the cable to your router. Tell us which Starlink kit you have, and arrange permission for external work if you rent or share the building.
Our North London patch
We work across Finchley N12, East Finchley N2, Highgate N6 and Golders Green NW11, as well as Muswell Hill, Hampstead, Hendon, Colindale and Camden. Roof access changes from street to street. Tell us about side passages, locked roof hatches and parking when you call.
We explain the findings, agree the work and give you a clear price before starting. For shared buildings, arrange authorisation and access with the landlord or managing agent first. Call 0800 206 2385 free, Mon–Sat 8am–7pm. We’ll check the diary for the earliest suitable visit.
