We fit CCTV that shows you who came through the gate, what happened beside the car and who approached the back door. We start with a free site survey. We walk the property with you, agree the views that matter and give you a fixed written quote. You know the clear price before work starts.
We bring 25 years' experience to homes and businesses across Finchley, Muswell Hill, Highgate and Golders Green. We also repair cameras and recorders installed by other firms. Call free on 0800 206 2385, Mon–Sat 8am–7pm. We offer same-day service where possible.
Your free site survey: walk the blind spots with us
A camera count means little until we have stood at your front door. We check the driveway, side return, rear access and available light. We ask what you need to recognise: a face at the gate, someone approaching a stockroom or activity beside a parked van. Each view gets a specific job.
We then check cable routes, recorder space, router access and power. At Victorian terraces in N12 and N2, the neatest route often follows an existing service run. We show you the proposed positions before drilling. Your free site survey ends with a clear specification and fixed written quote, with equipment and installation set out.
How many cameras does your property need?
We usually start the survey of a terrace with two or three views: front entrance, rear garden access and any exposed side return. A semi often needs three or four cameras to cover the drive, side passage and rear. A small shop often needs four to six views across its entrance, till, sales floor and delivery door. These are planning starting points; we count the actual blind spots on site.
Take a typical Finchley terrace job: one wide front view shows the approach, while a closer entrance view captures faces. At the back, we aim along the access route and mask the neighbouring garden. That gives each camera useful work without filling the wall with duplicate views.
Wired PoE cameras and local recording with no subscription
We recommend wired PoE cameras for a permanent system. One Ethernet cable carries power and video to each camera. There are no camera batteries to charge, and recording stays independent of the strength of your garden Wi-Fi. We secure the cable, weatherproof connections and seal entry holes.
Battery Wi-Fi cameras suit places where cable cannot be installed. They need charging, reliable wireless coverage and careful checks on recording limits and cloud fees. Our wired systems record locally to a network video recorder, with no subscription needed for local recording. Broadband supports remote viewing; the recorder keeps working during an internet outage while power remains on.
4K colour night vision, chosen for the actual scene
We fit 4K colour night vision cameras where the lighting and viewing distance suit them. We check street lighting, porch lights and reflections from brickwork or glass. Full-colour night images need sufficient light, supplied by the scene or the camera's own illumination. We explain that at the survey.
A wide picture of the whole drive and a close image of a face are different requirements. We choose the lens and mounting height accordingly. We also agree storage capacity and recording settings with you. Camera count, image quality and recording hours determine how long footage stays on the drive.
CCTV repairs: bring us the system that keeps letting you down
Blank camera? Recorder beeping? App stopped connecting after a router change? We repair existing CCTV, including systems other firms fitted badly. We test power, cabling, connectors, network settings and the recorder's hard drive. We check whether footage is actually being saved and whether you can retrieve it.
On a typical shop repair, we trace a missing rear-camera picture from the recorder back to the exposed connection by the delivery door. A damaged connection needs repair before anyone orders a replacement camera. We explain the test results and agree the repair price with you. Tell us the equipment make when you call; photographs of the recorder label help.
Upgrade old analogue cameras without guessing
We inspect older coax-based systems before specifying an upgrade. Sound existing cable can support compatible replacement equipment; damaged cable needs renewing. We check camera formats, recorder compatibility and power supplies together. You get a clear account of what we can retain and what needs replacing.
If you want a full move to IP cameras, we plan new Ethernet runs and recorder capacity. We also allow for extra cameras where you expect to extend coverage. We discuss your existing footage before changing a recorder so you can export anything you need to keep.
Phone viewing working before we leave
We set up the app with you, then test live viewing and playback on your phone. We show you how to find an event, save a clip and share access securely. We tune motion zones so passing traffic does not keep triggering alerts. You keep control of the main account.
We change default passwords, check access permissions and explain updates. We test remote viewing over mobile data as well as your home Wi-Fi. You leave the handover knowing how to use the system, with the recorder location and basic controls explained.
GDPR-friendly positioning and a straightforward booking
We keep cameras focused on your property and use privacy masks to exclude neighbouring windows and gardens. Recording beyond your boundary brings data protection responsibilities. We explain signage, restricted access and sensible retention. For shops, we discuss staff areas and the purpose of each view. Our installation advice supports your responsibilities; it does not replace legal advice.
We cover N12, N2, N6 and NW11, including Hampstead, Hendon and Colindale. Call free on 0800 206 2385 for your free site survey or a CCTV repair appointment. Tell us whether you need a new system, an upgrade or help getting an existing recorder working. We also handle aerial repairs through our separate repair service.
