N11 includes inter-war semis, terraces towards Arnos Grove and apartments in large converted buildings such as Princess Park Manor. Those properties do not share one wiring arrangement. Tell us what kind of home you have and whether its aerial belongs to you or the building, and we can prepare the right checks.
Establish who controls the aerial system
In an apartment, the wall socket may be your only accessible part of a much larger system. We inspect the lead and measure the terrestrial output there, then consider whether the fault belongs inside the dwelling or upstream. A socket with satellite connections as well as TV connections needs the correct outlet for Freeview.
If several residents report matching losses, we discuss building-level investigation with the managing agent. Equipment cupboards, roof access and permission should be arranged ahead of that work. We do not adjust communal distribution to improve one flat at the expense of another, or promise a private roof installation without checking authority.
An incomplete channel list needs a reason
Send us the names of the programmes you cannot find, rather than just the total channel count. Freeview transmits services in groups, and one missing group gives us a different starting point from an entirely blank guide. Counts also vary with receiver support and the transmitter being used.
We check the expected broadcasts, measure their quality and inspect the tuning settings. A receiver may store an unsuitable signal during an automatic search. Where appropriate, we select the correct region or manually tune supported equipment after establishing reception. Repeated rescans before that point can hide the original symptoms and remove useful stored channels.
Do not overlook the hardware inside the television
An older screen can display an HD picture from an external source yet lack a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD. We look up the actual model rather than relying on a sticker or screen resolution. If its receiver is the limitation, work on the roof will not change that specification.
For a compatible television, missing HD services instead prompt checks of the relevant broadcast group and signal path. In a converted building, ageing distribution equipment may need investigation, but we establish its condition rather than condemning every shared system. We explain whether repair, configuration or a compatible separate receiver addresses the problem.

Trace domestic wiring around Friary Park
In the semis around Friary Park, a second television may be fed through a loft splitter or an amplifier tucked away after an extension. We check which cable serves which room and whether powered equipment is actually receiving power. Comparing outlet readings helps locate the loss without opening every cable route.
We also inspect accessible terminations, damaged flyleads and weather-exposed connections. Where a cable requires replacement, we show you its route before starting and discuss access through finished rooms. Adding amplification is not a substitute for repairing a corroded joint or replacing water-damaged coax. The finished feed must work at the television, not merely at the aerial.

Check interruptions before arranging equipment changes
A sudden loss affecting nearby homes may relate to transmitter maintenance rather than anything inside your property. We review reported faults and planned engineering, then weigh that against your symptoms. Weather-related breakup, a single failed room and a whole neighbourhood interruption should not all lead to the same advice.
Crystal Palace is an important source across this part of London, but we verify the received signal at the address. Buildings and the route into each apartment matter. If filtering for mobile interference is proposed, we check its effect with measurements; we do not fit a filter solely because there is a mobile mast somewhere nearby.

Make catch-up and recording useful again
Freeview Play combines aerial reception with supported internet functions. We test those separately: a working live picture cannot prove that the television has joined the current Wi-Fi network. After a router replacement, reconnecting the set and checking its software may be the relevant work, rather than retuning broadcast channels.
We can include a compatible recorder in the visit. We check its aerial loop-through, guide and recording settings, then demonstrate a short recording and playback. App availability and recording choices depend on the equipment. You retain control of account credentials, and we explain any limitation that setup cannot remove.

Plan the visit around access, not assumptions
Please give us the entry instructions, parking restrictions and any managing-agent contact when booking. Keep the television remote handy and avoid moving heavy furniture yourself. We will discuss any safe access needed for external work; attendance does not automatically mean a ladder goes up.
