The inter-war semis near Friary Park, terraces towards Arnos Grove and apartments at Princess Park Manor present very different installation questions. We work through access, permissions and obstructions first. Our advice is straightforward: if a proposed position has a serious limitation, you should hear about it before spending money on permanent work.
Start with the building's rules in a managed apartment
For an apartment at Princess Park Manor, roof access and alterations cannot be treated as an individual household decision. We ask who manages the proposed location and what permission is required. Depending on the building and the work, heritage restrictions may also need checking before any external fixing is considered.
We can describe the proposed terminal position and cable path so you can discuss them with the managing agent. We need an authorised route, not an improvised cable through a communal window. If permission is refused or a compliant route is unavailable, we explain that physical installation cannot go ahead on the original plan.
Check the sky from the position we can actually use
A wide photograph of the garden is useful for planning, but it does not replace an obstruction assessment at the intended terminal position. We use the Starlink app to consider neighbouring roofs, trees and the building itself. A narrow view directly overhead is not enough for a system communicating with satellites moving across the sky.
Around Friary Park, we allow for the effect of mature tree canopies rather than judging only the bare branches visible during colder months. We compare realistic options within your property. We will not base a recommendation on cutting someone else's tree or assuming that extra mast height has no structural consequences.

Fit the house, not a standard roof package
An inter-war semi may offer sound side-wall brickwork with a relatively direct cable descent. A terrace can make rear access more awkward, particularly where extensions narrow the working space. We inspect the available fixing surface and establish how ladders or other access equipment can be used safely before specifying the installation.
The mount must suit the exact Starlink model and the loads it will carry. We assess bracket spacing, projection and exposure together. Reusing an existing mast is only an option after checking its condition and suitability; removing an old aerial does not automatically make its supporting hardware right for the new terminal.

Make the cable journey part of the survey
We ask where the router will live and trace the route back to the outdoor unit. In a terrace near Arnos Grove, that may mean avoiding a long detour around an extension or agreeing a discreet external descent. We check the supplied cable and connector requirements before promising that an existing opening can be reused.
Outside wiring is secured without crushing it. We avoid snag points, protect changes of direction and weatherproof the wall penetration. Indoors, the route must leave doors and walkways usable. Where shared corridors or fire-resisting construction are involved, the building's approved arrangements take priority over the quickest way to get connected.
Do not confuse a broadband fault with poor room coverage
We ask what happens when the connection fails: does the terminal go offline, or does one bedroom lose Wi-Fi while other devices continue working? Those are different symptoms. A terminal relocation will not necessarily improve wireless reception through several internal walls, and another mesh node cannot remove a tree from the satellite view.
Router placement is agreed with the rooms you use in mind. If the home office needs a more dependable local link, we discuss Ethernet or suitable mesh equipment and check what your kit supports. Any adapters, additional network work and coverage testing should appear in the agreed scope rather than becoming surprises during handover.
Moving an existing garden setup to a permanent mount
A typical job here: a household uses the supplied stand outside a semi, then wants the lawn clear and the cable out of the doorway. We assess a permanent location before moving anything. The fact that the kit connects at ground level does not prove that a position beside the upstairs window will be unobstructed.
We inspect the cable for damage and identify the terminal generation before choosing fittings. Existing accessories can stay where they are suitable, but we do not hide damaged connections behind a new bracket. We also agree a maintenance route, so a future cable change does not depend on reaching across an unsafe roof edge.

What you see when the installation is finished
We bring the system online using your own Starlink account, check the physical connections and demonstrate internet access. We then explain where to find terminal status and obstruction information. The app may require further operation before its longer-term obstruction picture is useful; an immediate test is not a promise about every future hour.
Your package and the network influence speeds, while local Wi-Fi adds another variable. We report what we can test and identify unresolved constraints honestly. You retain control of billing and account recovery. Keep passwords private when messaging us; account setup can be handled with you present rather than by sending login details in advance.
