N2 includes Victorian and Edwardian terraces, properties towards Hampstead Garden Suburb and modern flats along the High Road. Each brings different mounting questions. We offer a free site survey to establish construction, bracket requirements and cable routes, followed by a written specification and an agreed price.
Start with the devices you want to keep using
Tell us about your recorder, console, streaming box and soundbar before choosing the installation layout. A television mounted neatly above an empty cabinet still needs a route back to those devices. We count the connections and decide where each item will live, including space for ventilation and changing discs.
We check the formats you expect to watch or play before specifying HDMI leads. Length, connector access and the television's input capabilities all matter. An accessible route also makes a future upgrade easier: replacing a failed lead should not require dismantling a newly finished wall.
Mark the screen where you will actually watch it
Rooms in the terraces near Cherry Tree Wood can have several competing focal points. We compare the proposed location with the sofa, window light and door openings. Rather than measuring from the ceiling, we work from your seated view and show the approximate screen outline before agreeing the final height.
If the room serves both dining and sitting areas, an adjustable arm may help. It also projects further into the room and places greater demands on its support. We explain those trade-offs and check that the screen will not meet a door, cupboard or mantel as it moves.
Identify the wall behind the finish
A decorated surface tells us little about what can safely hold a screen. We establish whether the mounting area contains masonry, a lined wall or a framed partition, checking for hidden services as part of preparation. The bracket fixings need a suitable load path, not merely a convincing grip in plaster.
Modern High Road flats may need a different solution from an Edwardian house. Where framing or reinforcement is involved, we assess its position against the bracket and screen weight. If the wall requires opening or extra backing, we explain the work and finishing responsibilities before proceeding, rather than improvising around missing support.
Cable concealment should not create a maintenance problem
We can discuss discreet surface containment, a suitable existing void or a chased masonry route. Those options differ in disruption and the finish they leave. We show you the intended path, especially around skirting and joinery, so the phrase hidden cables does not conceal a separate decorating job.
Plugs and service connections must remain reachable. We keep power and signal wiring appropriately separated and arrange for a suitable electrician where mains sockets need alteration. Shared or fire-resisting construction requires particular care; we do not cut a route simply because the gap behind the television would hide the opening.
Keep fireplace and media-wall plans realistic
A screen above a fireplace needs assessment for heat, viewing angle and the construction behind it. We follow the television and appliance requirements and avoid interfering with flues. If the mantel forces an awkward height, we offer another wall position rather than presenting a tilt bracket as a cure for every layout.
For a new media wall, involve us while the builder can still alter the backing and openings. We need the actual equipment dimensions, suitable ventilation and an access plan. Around the Hampstead Garden Suburb fringes, check any applicable property restrictions or approvals before agreeing alterations; we do not assume every address has identical rules.

Match the mount and audio to the television
We inspect the VESA pattern, set weight and rear connections before approving a bracket. Some televisions need specific spacers or careful screw selection. We check an owner-supplied mount just as closely as one we recommend, including its condition and whether its movement suits the available support.
A soundbar must sit without covering the picture, blocking the remote sensor or obstructing its own speakers. We connect compatible ARC or eARC equipment and test audio output, volume operation and dialogue timing. If a wireless subwoofer is included, we check its connection rather than leaving that step to chance.

Finish with a working system, not an empty input
We verify mounting security and level, then exercise any bracket movement while watching the cable slack. We test the agreed sources, explain input selection and show how to access release fittings safely. You should know how to use the installation without having to guess which remote wakes each device.
Existing reception faults are separate from whether a television is securely mounted. We can discuss testing if channels already break up, but moving the screen indoors does not remove a roof-level signal shadow. We establish any extra fault-finding scope with you instead of assuming a new bracket will cure the picture.
