Across N13, Edwardian terraces and semis often retain original chimneys. Around Green Lanes, flats above shops introduce different ownership and access questions. We deal with those practical details early, then set out the mounting, cable route and setup work in a fixed written quote. We do not sell a roof position without checking it.
Broomfield Park's trees make a ground-level guess unreliable
Trees near Broomfield Park are an important part of the setting, but branches can also interrupt a satellite broadband connection. We assess their position relative to the terminal's required field of view. A small gap through foliage is not enough merely because a conventional television dish happens to work nearby.
The Starlink app helps us compare realistic mounting locations. We explain the assessment, including any obstruction that remains, before you agree to the work. Seasonal leaf cover and future growth matter when judging a position; we will not describe a view as permanently clear just because it looks open on one visit.

Original chimneys deserve an inspection, not an assumption
The top of an Edwardian house may offer useful clearance, but we first consider what will carry the terminal. Loose mortar, damaged brickwork or old lashings need attention before extra loading is considered. We assess an existing support on its condition and suitability, not on the equipment it once held.
Wall mounting can sometimes avoid a vulnerable stack, provided there is enough clearance and suitable masonry. We match supports to the precise kit, exposure and manufacturer's requirements. Increasing height without considering leverage is not a sensible shortcut. Any access equipment or building repair affecting the proposal is discussed before an installation booking is confirmed.

Follow the cable all the way to the room you use
On a terrace, the easiest external drop may be at the rear while your desk is at the front. We establish where the indoor equipment needs to sit and inspect the route between those points. Extensions, gutters and decorated rooms all influence the practical answer, so we agree visible runs in advance.
We use cabling appropriate to your Starlink hardware, avoiding crushed sections and tight turns. Outdoor lengths are secured, connectors handled carefully and the building entry protected against water. We do not leave cable passing under a door or rubbing over a sharp roof edge. A neat finish also needs to remain maintainable.

Over-shop flats need an authorised route
Near Palmers Green Triangle and along Green Lanes, the person occupying a flat may not control the frontage, roof or rear service area. We ask you to establish ownership and obtain the relevant written permission. The shop below should not discover an unexplained cable attached to its part of the building.
We also need workable access arrangements: who can open a shared gate, where equipment can be brought through and whether the managing agent sets conditions. Where planning restrictions or protected status apply, those checks must be settled as well. An installation date cannot override the approvals required for the physical alterations.
Keep an indoor coverage problem separate from a blocked sky
If the connection works beside the router but not in a back bedroom, raising the terminal is unlikely to be the answer. We distinguish the internet link from the Wi-Fi carrying it around your home. Thick dividing walls and long floor plans can weaken the latter even when the satellite connection is operating normally.
We discuss sensible router placement and, if required, compatible mesh or wired networking. Available connections differ by Starlink generation, so send us the exact model rather than ordering adapters on guesswork. We can include agreed coverage work in the proposal, but do not imply that basic terminal fitting includes every room or garden building.

When an existing terminal starts losing connection
We can inspect installations put up by other firms or initially fitted by the owner. Tell us what the app reports and whether the whole connection disappears or just one device loses Wi-Fi. Information about changes to nearby trees, scaffolding or the cable route helps us decide what to inspect first.
We check physical security, accessible connections and cable damage alongside the obstruction information. A failed component or account issue may need Starlink support rather than a relocation. We explain the likely next step and seek agreement before chargeable work. Replacing a mount without a reason is not a useful diagnosis.

Know what is checked and what you are booking
At completion we inspect the finished supports, cable entry and connections, then confirm that the terminal comes online through your account. We demonstrate relevant app screens and explain why some obstruction data appears only after operation. We can test connectivity, but cannot guarantee a constant speed or a fault-free satellite service.
