We fit new satellite systems and restore existing ones, including independent help with Sky equipment and Freesat. If a dish needs moving away from a prominent elevation, or reception has failed after building work, we assess the alternatives and explain the practical limits before you authorise anything.
Start with the building's status and the proposed view
Around Hampstead Village, a visually discreet position matters, but discretion alone does not establish permission. Conservation area controls, listed status and lease conditions can affect an installation in different ways. We flag the checks relevant to the proposed work and ask you to secure the necessary consent before drilling or changing an external mounting.
We consider rear elevations and less conspicuous positions where they offer reception and sound support. Concealing a dish behind a solid wall does not work: the satellite signal still needs a clear path. Our proposal brings appearance, access and measured reception together rather than treating any one of them as sufficient.

The hill is not a guarantee of a clear satellite path
An elevated address can still have a neighbouring roof or mature tree directly in the required direction. Near Hampstead Heath and Parliament Hill, we assess the actual line towards the satellite rather than relying on the property's height. Sky and Freesat normally receive from the orbital position at 28.2 degrees east.
We compare realistic mounting locations and check what each means for maintenance. Reaching above an obstruction may require a different support arrangement; moving sideways can sometimes be more sensible. We explain any continuing restriction so you can decide whether the proposed location is worthwhile before equipment is fitted.
Converted houses need a clear division of responsibility
In a period house divided into flats, the wall outside your room may not be yours to alter. We establish who owns the dish and cabling, which residents it supplies and who can approve access. Existing feeds are checked before we suggest another dish on an already busy elevation.
Where a shared system serves the building, an upgrade inside one flat may depend on distribution equipment elsewhere. We identify that dependency early. Work on communal infrastructure requires authorisation and suitable access; private receiver work is kept distinct so your appointment does not unexpectedly alter another household's reception.
Specify the receiving equipment around your actual box
Tell us the exact model, not just whether the box carries a Sky or Freesat logo. Wideband and universal LNB arrangements support different receiver requirements, and Freesat generations differ too. We verify the specification, required connections and any other receivers you intend to keep before choosing replacement equipment.
The LNB sits on the dish arm and supplies the satellite feeds. Changing it can affect other connected boxes, so we plan mixed installations as a whole. We do not manage provider accounts or subscriptions. Our role is the receiving installation, its compatibility and the measured connection to your equipment.

Protect the fabric when bringing cables indoors
Thick walls, decorative finishes and converted layouts can make the shortest route the least appropriate one. We agree a route with you, checking existing service openings where usable and avoiding unnecessary disturbance. If consent limits the available route, that restriction forms part of the installation plan rather than an afterthought on the day.
New coax is properly supported outside and passed through a sealed entry. We test existing runs before retaining them and inspect terminations behind wall plates. Cable crushed beneath a window or concealed by a later alteration can undermine a new dish, so the indoor path receives the same attention as the visible outdoor equipment.

Investigate a lost picture before ordering a replacement
Scaffolding can obstruct reception without damaging the dish. Roofing work can disturb alignment, while a worn connector may fail independently of either. We ask when the problem started, inspect the mounting and compare signal measurements along the feed. That sequence helps avoid replacing sound equipment for the wrong reason.
Where adjustment is needed, we first make sure the support is secure. We then set the dish direction, elevation and LNB rotation using test equipment. A repair may involve a small component or a section of coax rather than a complete installation; we explain the findings and the proposed scope before proceeding.

Plan access, then verify reception in the room
Narrow approaches and awkward rear elevations need an access plan. Tell us about shared passages, parking arrangements and roof access when booking. Some positions require specialist equipment or another appointment after permission is confirmed. We explain these requirements instead of assuming a ladder can reach every proposed fixing.
Once installed, we test multiple suitable transponders and the feeds required by your receiver. We demonstrate viewing and available recording features indoors. Extreme rainfall can still interrupt satellite signals; our checks address avoidable losses and establish any site limitations, rather than promising that weather will never affect a broadcast.
