We install Starlink across NW6, including Kilburn High Road, Brondesbury and the Queen's Park side. Our 25 years' experience covers external mounting, safe access and cable routing. We explain the options plainly, then provide a fixed written quote before the job begins.
Terraces shade one another more than owners expect
Rows of Victorian houses create long parallel rooflines. A terminal that looks well placed from the back bedroom may be partly blocked by a rear extension or chimney several doors away. We use the Starlink obstruction check from the proposed position rather than estimating by eye.
At the survey we compare front, rear and rooftop options. A rear garden or yard may be convenient, but it can sit in a trench between buildings. If a higher position is needed, we discuss access, wall condition and whether the fixing suits the property.
Queen's Park cottages need a discreet installation
Compact cottages and carefully kept frontages leave little room for clumsy equipment. We prefer the least intrusive position that gives the terminal a proper view, and we explain the visible parts of the cable route before work starts. Cosmetic compromise should not mean an unusable connection.
Some Queen's Park streets and buildings have restrictions on external alterations. We ask you to check ownership terms and any conservation requirement, because we cannot assume a rear wall is free for modification. If the visible position is a concern, tell us before the visit.
Brondesbury mansion blocks: permission shapes the plan
Large blocks often have shared flat roofs, communal risers and strict rules on structural changes. We establish who controls access before proposing a roof mount, and we ask for written managing-agent approval where required. A balcony may be your own space but still belong to the building's structure.
Cabling is the second hurdle. We agree a route that avoids obstructing stairs and does not damage fire-stopping. Where holes are needed, they must be sealed correctly. We would rather revise the plan than leave a route that creates a dispute with neighbours.
Mounting on brick that has seen a century of weather
Older brick can be sound, but pointing may be weak and chimneys can lean slightly. We inspect the fixing surface and consider wind load before reusing an old aerial bracket. A pole increases leverage on whatever carries it, so we judge the complete assembly, not only the terminal.
The terminal model matters because mounting parts differ. Send us a photograph of the label and any existing bracket. We use compatible hardware and follow manufacturer requirements. If the stack needs repair first, we say so rather than adding new weight to it.
Cable entry in flats above shops and converted houses
Along busy roads, flats can sit above commercial units with shared walls and unclear boundaries. We follow the actual route from the terminal to your router, noting bay windows, ducts and landlord responsibilities. The shortest path may pass through an area you do not control.
Where drilling is approved, the outer run is clipped without crushing the cable, with a drip loop ahead of the entry. We seal the penetration and avoid acute bends. Ordinary television coax is not a replacement for the cable supplied or specified for your Starlink kit.
Wi-Fi in tall narrow homes
A satellite connection at the roof does not automatically produce a strong signal on the third floor. We ask where you work, stream and use smart devices before agreeing where the router goes. Moving the router a few metres can matter more than another accessory.
If a mesh system or Ethernet connection is part of the job, we confirm compatibility with your Starlink generation. Mesh nodes need a decent link to the router. We say plainly what we are changing and where further indoor networking would be a separate task.
Testing and explaining the finished installation
When fitting is complete, we check the mounting, cable support and weather seal, then confirm the terminal connects through your own account. We show you how to read the obstruction information, noting that it improves as the terminal gathers data.
We cannot promise a particular speed, because plan, demand and conditions influence it. We can promise to document what was installed, explain the equipment ownership and tell you what to do if movement, damage or a new obstruction appears.

Call free on 0800 206 2385 or WhatsApp 07595 292534. Give us your NW6 address, kit model, building type and photographs taken from the ground. Mention shared entrances, parking restrictions and whether a managing agent needs notice. Please leave roof access to us.
We are Finchley Aerials and Satellites on Britannia Road, Finchley N12 9RU, open Mon-Sat 8am-7pm for calls. We give free advice, work on site until sunset and offer same-day service where possible. Your fixed written quote comes before the work starts.
