Around Ballards Lane and Regents Park Road, neighbouring blocks, mature gardens and rear extensions can make the nearest mounting point the wrong one. We assess your property rather than assuming the installation next door proves anything. You get our recommendation and a fixed written quote before deciding whether to proceed.
Look above the garden before choosing a bracket
We begin by comparing the available sky at practical mounting positions. Starlink follows moving satellites, so it needs a broad field of view rather than one narrow opening between roofs. The app's obstruction tool helps us identify branches, chimney stacks and buildings that intrude into that field.
Near Victoria Park, a clear view in winter may change when nearby trees come into leaf. We discuss that risk without promising that extra height will solve everything. Where a site remains obstructed, we explain the likely interruptions and whether a different location is worth investigating before you commit to permanent fixings.
An Edwardian semi needs a different route from a flat
In an Edwardian semi, we can often compare an accessible side wall with positions nearer the ridge. That comparison includes brick condition, roof access and how far the cable must travel. We do not choose a chimney simply because it already carries an aerial, or assume an old pole has enough spare capacity.
Purpose-built flats around Finchley Central bring another question: who can authorise the work? A private balcony does not automatically give permission to drill a shared elevation or use the roof. We establish the proposed fixing, ownership and access arrangements before asking you to obtain the appropriate written approval.
Match the hardware, not just the pole diameter
Send us the model of your Starlink terminal when enquiring. Different generations use different mounting interfaces, cables and router connections. We check the actual equipment before specifying adapters or brackets; a mount that appears to fit is not necessarily an approved or secure arrangement.
We consider wind exposure and the leverage created by any stand-off or mast. Taller is not automatically better, particularly on ageing masonry. Our installation plan includes suitable fixings into sound material, cable support and a way to reach the equipment for maintenance without taking unnecessary risks with your roof.
Decide where the cable enters before we drill
Inter-war houses can have several additions between the outside wall and the room used as an office. We walk that route with you, allowing for connector size, cable length and access behind furniture. Where a visible run is unavoidable, we agree its position instead of leaving the choice until the terminal is mounted.
We protect the Starlink cable from sharp edges and tight turns, support exposed lengths and arrange the entry to discourage water tracking indoors. The opening is sealed appropriately for the wall. Existing television coax is not a replacement for the manufacturer's power-and-data cable, even if it already reaches the right room.
Keep satellite reception separate from indoor coverage
A good outdoor position cannot make Wi-Fi pass freely through every wall. We discuss the rooms that matter before settling the router location. A cupboard at the cable entry may be convenient for hiding equipment but poor for reaching bedrooms or an office behind a kitchen extension.
We test the agreed indoor areas and explain any coverage gaps. If mesh equipment or a wired connection would help, we check compatibility with your particular Starlink generation first. Some arrangements need additional adapters. We distinguish that extra network work from the basic terminal installation so the quote remains understandable.

When a temporary setup keeps dropping out
If your kit is already working from the patio but calls keep breaking up, tell us what the app reports. Obstructions, interrupted power and weak indoor Wi-Fi need different remedies. We inspect the existing arrangement before suggesting relocation, and avoid treating every interruption as proof that the terminal needs replacing.
An existing TV dish pointing towards a fixed satellite does not identify the correct Starlink position. Nor does good terrestrial reception from Crystal Palace settle the question. We use the Starlink view of the sky and the equipment's own status information, then explain what physical installation work can reasonably improve.
A handover you can check for yourself
After securing the equipment, we inspect connections, external supports and the sealed entry. We confirm that the terminal comes online through your account and test internet access. We show you the app's status screen, including where obstruction information appears and why a fuller report may need more running time.
We do not guarantee a particular download speed or uninterrupted service. The plan, network demand, weather and remaining obstructions can affect performance. You keep ownership of your subscription and login; we explain the work completed and any limitations left to monitor rather than handing over an unexplained speed-test screenshot.
