We agree the intended rooms, mounting and cable route with you before changing the equipment. The installation is designed around your home and the broadcasts it can receive.
Design controls come before exterior changes
Arts and Crafts cottages and houses around the Suburb can be subject to controls affecting visible equipment. We ask you to establish any required Trust, planning or ownership approval before an exterior installation proceeds. The presence of another aerial nearby is not evidence that the same proposal is permitted for your property.
If existing equipment is disconnected for the work, we establish its purpose first. Cables that look redundant from the roof can still serve another room or household.

Give the loft a proper assessment
Many homes receive terrestrial broadcasts well enough to make an indoor position worth considering. We test inside the actual roof space, allowing for tiles, insulation and metalwork. A sheltered aerial keeps the exterior clear, but only makes sense if the measured quality supports dependable reception at the intended television outlets.
We discuss the appearance of brackets and visible wiring together. A discreet aerial position can be undermined by an avoidable cable line across the most prominent wall.

Do not trade reception for concealment without knowing
If a hidden position produces a marginal result, we explain the limitation rather than disguise it with a booster. Amplification cannot recreate broadcast information already lost. We compare viable alternatives and discuss an appropriately discreet exterior proposal only where permissions and safe mounting allow it. You see the reasoning before accepting the plan.
An amplifier needs an appropriate location as well as the correct gain. We consider access to power and future servicing before specifying where it will be installed.

Cable appearance needs its own discussion
Near Central Square and elsewhere in the Suburb, a short route is not necessarily the best-looking route. We discuss existing service lines, room entries and how much cable would remain visible. We avoid drilling decorative details or making assumptions about suitable fixing areas. The agreed route becomes part of the installation scope.
Where no suitable indoor position is found, we explain the evidence plainly. Concealment is desirable only when it does not depend on accepting an unreliable television feed.

Retain working equipment where sensible
An older aerial can remain useful when its output and support are sound. We test it and follow the feed through connections, sockets and any distribution components. A cable repair or altered splitter may achieve the result without a new exterior fitting. We explain that option if it is supported by the measurements.
We aim to keep the installation understandable to the person using it. A short explanation of the signal path can help you avoid disconnecting essential components during later furniture changes.

Plan rooms without filling the loft with boxes
Multiple televisions need an appropriate distribution arrangement, not necessarily a collection of powered boosters. We account for the incoming signal, cable lengths and split losses. If powered equipment is required, we choose an accessible position and explain its supply. Each outlet in the agreed work is checked rather than assumed to match the nearest room.
For difficult access, the safe method is agreed before exterior work starts. We do not ask a householder to assist with improvised roof access or climb to inspect equipment.

Make the final setup understandable
After establishing a stable feed, we tune compatible receivers and confirm the expected broadcasts. We explain which components are new and which existing parts were retained. HD decoding depends on receiving equipment as well as reception; streaming applications rely on internet access, which a terrestrial aerial does not provide. These are separate checks, not reasons to replace working hardware.
When a new route is needed, we consider the support of the cable along its length. Loose sections exposed to movement can deteriorate even if the connections were initially sound.

Prepare the permissions and access information
Around Big Wood and the Henrietta Barnett School area, the address alone cannot tell us your particular approval requirements or roof access. Please mention any design conditions, shared ownership or planned roof work when booking. We can discuss a realistic sequence and written proposal without assuming an exterior installation can happen before those matters are resolved.
A working picture on arrival is useful information but not conclusive proof of margin. We check the underlying feed so intermittent faults are not dismissed solely because they pause during the visit.
