We install aerials for N17 terraces, estate homes and newer apartments around Tottenham Hale. Crystal Palace generally serves Tottenham well, but the route between the aerial and your screen still needs checking. Our job is to turn that available reception into a stable, usable connection where you watch.
A flat and a terrace need different starting questions
For a Victorian terrace near Bruce Castle, we assess the roof, chimney condition and possible cable drops. For a flat, we first ask whether the block already provides terrestrial television. A socket marked TV may share a plate with satellite connections, and the two feeds are not interchangeable.
If the communal supply is at fault, a private aerial is not necessarily the practical solution. We establish responsibility and arrange authorised checks with the building manager. Where a separate installation is appropriate, we set out the permissions, access and cabling it involves before asking you to make a decision.
Measure reception above the surrounding buildings
Good postcode coverage does not tell us what reaches a particular rear roof. New developments around Tottenham Hale and neighbouring blocks can alter the signal path. We assess viable positions and use meter readings to compare the broadcast groups, rather than assume the tallest available mast will solve everything.
Crystal Palace is our main starting point. We check direction, aerial polarisation and decoding quality, looking for a useful margin rather than a strong-looking television bar. A directional aerial can help in some reflected-signal situations, but its size and mounting must also suit the building. We explain that balance during the survey.
Do not pay to replace a sound rooftop aerial
An installation request sometimes begins with a television that has lost channels. We compare the incoming reception with the signal at the room outlet. If the aerial performs properly but the cable is waterlogged or a distribution unit has failed, we explain the smaller repair option instead.
Old equipment is not automatically unusable, and a new aerial cannot mend a damaged indoor lead. We inspect connectors and wall plates as part of the assessment. You receive a scope based on the cause of the problem, with any retained parts identified, rather than an automatic recommendation to remove everything.
Plan the wiring while rooms are accessible
During a refurbishment, let us know before plastering or decorating closes the useful routes. We agree outlet positions around your furniture and can discuss spare runs for future rooms. The aim is a fixed connection, not coax stretched through doorways after the television has been installed.
We use screened cable for new aerial runs, protect external connections and secure the route so wind does not pull on the terminations. Existing concealed cables are tested before reuse. Where chasing is unsuitable in a rented home, we discuss a tidy surface route and ask you to secure the landlord's agreement first.
Share one aerial without starving the last room
A living-room television, bedroom set and recorder can often use one aerial, provided distribution is designed properly. Every split reduces the level available along each branch. We consider cable distances and outlet losses together, rather than keep adding inexpensive splitters until one room becomes unreliable.
Some homes need powered distribution; others do not. Where amplification is justified, we choose a sensible accessible position for its supply and explain what must remain powered. On communal systems, we check the permitted arrangement before altering anything. Equipment inside one flat should not disturb the service reaching other residents.
Prove the channels after the physical work
We test the completed feed at each agreed outlet, then check the available televisions. Retuning happens after the wiring and reception are sound. We confirm the expected channel groups and investigate any remaining breakup rather than treat an apparently successful automatic scan as the whole handover.
If interference is affecting reception, we examine the cable screening and any amplifier before specifying a filter. Placement matters: filtering downstream cannot undo overload that has already occurred upstream. We also check receiver compatibility when HD services are missing, because the television needs the appropriate tuner as well as a clean aerial signal.
Tell us about access before we set off
Near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, tell us if event arrangements affect access to your street. For estate or apartment work, mention parking permits, locked service areas and the person who authorises roof entry. Safe access may require additional arrangements, and we explain those before scheduling work at height.
