We serve NW9 homes around Beaufort Park, Grahame Park and Colindale Park, as well as the area's inter-war semis. Whether you have just moved in or want the television off a crowded cabinet, we plan the installation around your room, building requirements and connected equipment.
Bring the building information into the conversation
If you have drawings or a handover pack for your flat, let us know. They may help identify framing or designated fixing zones, although we still assess the actual mounting area. We ask whether the chosen wall separates dwellings, encloses services or has a fire-resisting role before considering openings or concealed routes.
Permission is a separate issue from technical suitability. A leaseholder or tenant should establish what the owner or managing agent allows, particularly for changes to shared construction. We discuss the proposed work clearly enough for you to seek approval. We do not promise that every cavity can accommodate cables simply because it is hollow.
Framing, backing and the pull of a moving screen
We locate suitable structural support and consider the complete load path. Timber studs, metal framing and purpose-installed backing call for different decisions. The television's size alone is not a fixing specification. We need its weight, the bracket arrangement and the points where that bracket can connect to adequate support.
A full-motion mount creates greater leverage as it extends. If reinforcement is required, we explain the access needed and agree responsibility for closing and decorating the wall afterwards. For an older Colindale semi, the answer might instead involve checking masonry behind plaster. We base the proposal on the property, not its postcode or appearance.
Make an open-plan room comfortable to watch in
A typical job here: an apartment has a sofa facing one wall and a dining table beside the kitchen. We mark the proposed screen level from the sofa first, then consider whether occasional viewing from the table justifies an adjustable mount. We avoid compromising everyday comfort merely to make the screen visible from every corner.
We also look at sunlight across the room and the space needed to walk past the television. A swivel arm must not project into a narrow route when open. With large glazing near Colindale Park, changing the angle may reduce reflections, but we discuss window coverings or a different location if movement alone will not solve them.
Keep the existing outlets usable
Many flats bring the communal television feed, data and power to one media plate. We plan the new screen position relative to that plate so the bracket does not cover essential connections. We check plug depth, cable bends and where your receiver or games console will stand before choosing how close to the wall the TV should sit.
Moving the screen does not require us to alter the block's shared reception equipment. We connect to the authorised outlet and test the local connection. If there is a separate reception fault, we explain it rather than treating a wall-mounting appointment as permission to enter communal cupboards or change distribution serving other residents.
Decide what hidden really means
A short run of colour-matched surface trunking can be less disruptive than opening a decorated partition. Where a concealed route is appropriate, we establish safe access, cable separation and any protective details that must be maintained. We explain visible entry points and the likely finishing work instead of promising an invisible installation without inspection.
We include the leads your equipment needs and retain a way to service them. HDMI connections, power plugs and joints must not disappear into inaccessible spaces. New or moved mains outlets are work for a suitable electrician. If your builder is preparing a media wall, involve us before the backing and cable access are covered.
Finish the sound and controls as well as the picture
We check soundbar clearances against its speaker layout, including upward-facing drivers where present. It should not cover the screen or obstruct the remote sensor. If the television and bar support HDMI audio return, we configure that connection and test whether your normal remote can control volume as intended.
We run through your streaming device, receiver and console, looking for picture, sound and lip-sync problems. We also demonstrate how to select inputs and safely reach the connections. The handover includes checking screen level and cable slack through the agreed range of movement, then clearing the immediate work area.
