We install, relocate and repair satellite receiving systems throughout NW9. Our work covers compatible Sky, Sky Q and Freesat equipment, independently of the subscription provider. Tell us what you want to watch and which receiver you own; we will explain the physical installation it needs.
An apartment outlet is the first thing to investigate
At Beaufort Park and Grahame Park, we begin by asking who manages the shared television equipment. The socket in your lounge may connect to a communal satellite system rather than an individual dish. We establish what service reaches it, whether the feed is allocated and which receiver arrangements it supports.
Please arrange permission and access through the managing agent if the work involves a locked distribution cupboard or roof. We can test accessible connections inside your flat first. Altering shared equipment without checking the design risks affecting neighbouring homes, so we keep private cable repairs separate from building-wide changes.
Choose a dish position against today's skyline
Colindale's mixture of established houses and taller new developments makes an old dish position worth reassessing. For UK Sky and Freesat services, we look for an unobstructed path towards the satellites around 28.2 degrees east. We assess the actual direction from the proposed bracket, not simply the amount of sky visible.
A balcony can appear open yet face away from the required satellite. Equally, a modest wall position on a house may work without taking equipment to the chimney. We compare viable locations, supporting masonry and future maintenance access. Where a neighbouring block obstructs every permitted position, we explain that limitation before you commit.

Match the feed to the box, not just the plug
The small receiving unit on the dish arm is the LNB. Its specification matters as much as alignment. Sky Q normally needs a wideband arrangement on an individual dish, whereas older Sky equipment and different Freesat models can have other requirements. A connector fitting the socket does not establish compatibility.
Send us the receiver's model number before the visit. We check how many feeds are needed, whether the existing LNB can remain and whether a mixed installation needs compatible additional outputs. In a communal building, we also establish the distribution method before recommending a receiver or promising that a box swap will work.
Retain serviceable equipment when reception fails
A missing-signal message can come from a displaced dish, a failed LNB, damaged coax or a poor termination. We trace the route rather than treating the message as proof that everything outside needs replacing. Tell us whether the fault affects all viewing, only some channels or particular recording functions.
We inspect corrosion and movement at the bracket before adjusting alignment. At external joints, we check for water entry and protect replacement connections appropriately. If the dish surface, support and wiring remain usable, keeping them can be the sensible repair. We describe the failed part and the proposed remedy in plain terms.
Routes that respect finished rooms and shared spaces
A new cable should not become an obstacle across a balcony door or communal landing. We agree its path from the dish or authorised distribution point to your receiver before work begins. Within a modern flat, that includes checking existing service routes rather than assuming every concealed cable can be pulled out.
For houses near Colindale Park, we consider side access, wall entry and the final position of the television cabinet together. Suitable screened satellite coax, supported runs and sealed penetrations matter throughout. We test any cable proposed for reuse; an undamaged-looking outer sheath does not reveal every crushed section or faulty connector.
Obtain approval before adding private hardware
Owning your apartment does not necessarily give permission to fix a dish to the facade. Lease terms, landlord requirements and building management rules need checking. We can describe the proposed equipment and cable route for an approval request, but we cannot grant permission on behalf of the freeholder.
For any property with additional planning restrictions, establish the applicable requirements before installation. A discreet position still needs a clear signal path and secure support. We do not hide a dish behind solid cladding and expect reception through it, or attach brackets to unsuitable surfaces simply because they are out of sight.
Commission the whole receiving chain
We measure reception quality at the dish where accessible, then check the feeds delivered to your receiver. Testing several relevant transponders helps identify faults that one working channel can conceal. We confirm the available viewing and recording functions supported by your particular box and service.
Rain can expose weak alignment or deteriorated connections, although extreme weather can interrupt even a sound installation. We seek a useful reception margin rather than promising weather-proof viewing. At handover, we identify the connected feeds and explain any remaining building or equipment limitation so you know exactly what has been tested.
Arrange a Colindale visit with useful details ready
Call 0800 206 2385 free or WhatsApp 07595 292534. Include your NW9 address, receiver model and whether your home uses a shared roof system. Ground-level photographs of an existing dish can help; please do not climb to take them. Mention entry arrangements, parking restrictions and any required building appointment.
